He is considered one of the best bassists of the current European scene. After having studied piano and sol-fa, he learnt to play the double bass in a self-taught way. During his long and fruitful career he has played next to consecrated jazz musicians like George Cables, John Hicks, Loui Bellson, Gary Bartz, Jimmy Owens, Frank Lacy, Idris Muhammad, Perico Sambeat and Tete Montoliu, among other.
Regarding other styles, he has collaborated with flamenco musicians such as Tomatito, Radio Tarifa, The Ball, Carmen Linares, Dieguito or Enrique Morente. He has also experienced with the Cuban sound, accompanying Compay Segundo and the Ford Apache Band or, more recently, Bebo Valdés in his work Lágrimas Negras.
He has been awarded with numerous prizes in recognition to his work and he has recently published "Si te contara", where Jazz is mixed with Cuban sounds, accompanied by Pancho Amat, master of the small Cuban guitar "tres"
